moreVoting Question: Could we immigrate to New Zealand?
My family wants to emigrate from the UK to New Zealand, preferably Auckland.
My mum is 50, in good health and works as a marketing manager at the moment. She has a degree in business and has also worked in agriculture too.
My dad is 54 and smokes like a chimney so may not be in good health. He is currently unemployed but works as an accountant that specializes in transfer pricing.
They both want to buy a cheap house with lots of land somewhere in Auckland, and retire when their 70-years-old and start up a B&B or something like that.
I am 15-years-old and doing my GCSEs, and my brother is 12-years-old and still in school.
What is the likelihood of our family being accepted into NZ?
moreResolved Question: My fiancee is so annoying! Should i give in to him or just say no?
Basically we had an argument on the phone about property. As many of you know my fiancee and I are quite jet setters. I have a work place in New York that i own while he has one in Barcelona which he owns (i made him sell his LA villa so he could get the Barcelona one as i made him realise that 3 homes for 1 man was silly and a waste of good money!) We also have a joint in Kentucky (his home town) that is suppose to be our home base for which we go when we aren't working.
Now the argument was because i said that i want to buy a small flat in the village that my family live in in the UK as i want my own place when i am at home for work. He went mad as he said that he was only allowed 1 other place while i was allowed 2, how was this fair? I tried to explain to him that our home base is in his fricking home town so why would he need another flat there as well! He was being a baby and started to get all huffy about wanting a place in LA. He flying out there tomorrow for a week which is why i think he was all moody over it as he did quite like his LA villa. So i told him that if he wanted a place in LA then fine he could get one but i wanted nothing to do with it. I didn't want to hear about it, stay at it nothing, I think it is a waste of money but if he wanted it fine. This got him in an even worse mood and he said that why couldn't our base be in LA. Now it took us ages to decide on where to live as i wanted the cute village my family live in or a posh part of London in the UK and he wanted the sticks of Kentucky where his family live. We decided on Kentucky though and we were happy on that decsion, found a new build house near his parents, did it up, the works! So i started to tell him that he was an idiot and should of thought it through before we brought the place and spend money doing it up. Which he replied to as okay lets start again. I want to vote for LA to be our home base and to sell the Kentucky place and then just build a small house on his parents land for when we come over. Now i really wanted to put the phone down at this point but i didn't. I told him that maybe he should of listened when i said what about LA. He said he was sorry but sees why this is a good idea now. I told him good night and i would speak to him tomorrow before his flight.
Now the thing is i do like the idea of LA. We have spend a winter out their when he had a villa in Carmel and we did love it. I just have spent alot of time doing up our house in Kentucky and moving everything in. He can be really annoying sometimes and i don't want to give in. Should i stick my ground or give in and put our Kentucky place on the market and let him go house hunting in LA?
Argh men!
Sorry it is long! I am fuming!Kentucky isn't too bad. Minus the few run in's i have had with some of the locals...We do realise how lucky we are. We have worked very, very hard to have what we have!
moreResolved Question: Drontal worming tablets for cats, which one to buy?
My cat's weight is 5kg
There are two different types one is for cats that weigh 4kg and there is an XL box for cats that are 6kg and over.
It says that one tablet = 4kg or 6kg depending on which one you buy.
Seeing as my cat's weight lands in the middle which one should i buy.
I've seen them at a reasonable price on the internet but the information wasn't to clear, for example the picture on the box says Drontal (tablets) but the description the seller gave said Drontal (tablet) so how many come in a box?
Is there anyone out there who can give me professional advise as i don't what to give him the wrong dosage in case it makes him ill in any way. I've given him worming tablets in the past (NOT DRONTAL) and he threw up a couple of hours latter, and have given him the Bob Martin spot on worming treatment but want to give Drontal a try as it is supposed to be more effective and have read good reviews.

Theres a small patch of unused land behind my house that is no use to anyone. Here's a snippet of my new story I'm writing :D
Also, can anyone help me think of a title? Thanks!
The kunoichi slipped into the night.
Her long, platinum ponytail swayed gently around her back like a banner in the wind. Her hands curled into fists.
Below her, the wooden deck creaked. She was unsure how it had survived for so many years. She was unsure how she had survived, too. The ninja's whole body felt weightless in the cool September breeze.
Cautiously observing her surroundings, the ninja leapt up into the night sky and landed neatly on the grass below. The only sound was the fresh water being deposited into the small pond. That, and her heartbeat in her ears.
She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and blinked, trying hard to see in the serene darkness.
“Okay,” the ninja murmured to herself. “Let's do this.”
She darted forward, slipping past a sakura tree. That one tree bought back some bad memories, but there was no time to reminisce. The village needed her.
Her name was Momoko Tsuzuki, of Kazōrami village. The village that for now, lay in her hands.
That's just the beginning of the prologue, the whole thing is longer. Tell me what you think!!
moreResolved Question: im stuck on my assignment can anybody help?
In 1996, Christopher bought the freehold of an empty shop for £95,000. Title to the property is registered at The Land Registry. The property included living accommodation (a flat) above the shop. Christopher borrowed money from his Uncle Stanley both to finance the purchase and to cover the cost of fitting out the shop and redecorating the flat. The total sum he borrowed was £125,000. He gave Uncle Stanley a first legal charge over the freehold as security for repayment of the loan and Uncle Stanley registered the charge at The Land Registry.
Having completed the purchase, Christopher opened up as a newsagent/general store in the shop premises and moved into the living accommodation above. With the money borrowed from Uncle Stanley he refitted the shop, installing new shelving (costing £5,000) and refrigerators and display cabinets (costing £10,000). He also installed a central heating boiler and radiators in the flat at a cost of a further £5,000.
In 2001, Christopher found himself facing a financial crisis and to stave off bankruptcy he borrowed £60,000 from NatWest, giving them a second charge over the freehold, which was duly registered. However, Christopher’s financial fortunes did not improve and his trade creditors (his suppliers) have now obtained a bankruptcy order against him.
Christopher has paid all interest on loans up to date but has not repaid any of the loan capital.
The business is now valued at £165,000, which includes (a) the freehold of the shop and the flat (the valuers say £120,000, excluding shop fittings and the flat’s central heating system), (b) shop fittings – the shelving, refrigerators, display cases, etc (valued at cost) (c) the central heating in the flat (the valuers say £5,000 for this) (c) the goodwill of the business (the valuers say £25,000).
Assuming that the business is sold by Christopher’s trustee in bankruptcy for £165,000 as per the valuation, how much will (a) Uncle Stanley (b) NatWest and (c) the trustee in bankruptcy receive respectively from the proceeds of sale?

Easybuild Plc built Swallow Close in the early 1960s. Your client Peter Harvey bought 22 Swallow Close as a new house from Easybuild in 1962 and he has lived there ever since. In his purchase deed he covenanted with Easybuild (a) not to use the property for the purposes of any trade, profession or business (b) to maintain the boundary fences marked with a “T” on the plan attached to the purchase deed in good repair and condition and (c) to extract covenants to the same effect from any subsequent owner of the property. The boundary that he is responsible for, according to the “T” mark on the plan, is the boundary between numbers 20 and 22 Swallow Close. He assumed at the time that everyone who bought one of the houses would give the same covenants and that his neighbours at number 24 would be responsible for the boundary between their properties.
Peter believes that Easybuild went into liquidation in 1980 and he does not know who acquired the benefit of the covenants previously given to Easybuild.
Peter remembers that when he first moved into 22 Swallow Close a Mrs Dawkins was already living in 24 Swallow Close, next door to him. She lived there until she died in 1985. After her death, the house was empty until 1988, when David Jackson moved in.
Peter has got on well with Mr Jackson until recently, when Mr Jackson decided to allow his son to run his painting and decorating business from the house. Now the garage has become a workshop, there are vans constantly parked on the driveway and rubbish is piling up on the front lawn. On top of that the shared boundary fence has fallen over and is smashed in parts.
Your own enquiries have disclosed that Swallow Close is in an area where registration of title to land did not become compulsory until 1990.
Peter would like to know:
(i)whether and how he can stop Mr Jackson’s son from operating his business from 24 Swallow Close; and
(ii)what he can do about the broken boundary fencing.

It's equivalent to 4 a levels (i also have biology, english language and ICT as AS level). What could I do next that could get me a decent salary? I was thinking about a nutritionist or an event manager.
I want to be able to buy a small house with land for 2 to 3 horses in the future.I dont want to be a groom or yard manager. I stated what I wanted clearly in my question.Oh well if dixi_loulou hasn't heard of it then it's not worth spitting on.

moreResolved Question: Can you help me with the titles of these three Japanese movies?
Ok, I used to have a netflix account and I saw some Japanese films, one of which was a documentary. However, I can't remember the titles, and I want to, obviously!
The first movie is about a Japanese man who wants to commit suicide and he keeps imagining ways he can kill himself. One way he imagines is stacking a bunch of books, and then hanging himself. He travels to Taiwan, I think, where he meets this girl, and he stays at her place. They play DDR or something (that's a tiny detail that just made an impression on me due to the stereotype that asians love to play DDR), and I don't remember exactly what happened but the main character ends up in prison.
The second film is really cute. It is a romance and it uses a lot of text messages and stuff. The lead guy asks for the advice of his online friends from this popular japanese site (I used to know this too, but I forgot :(...) It's a real site though! So the lead sees this girl on the train, whom he begins to call Hermes because of a scarf made by the designer. The movie is a rom-com.
The last one is a documentary, and it is about these boys in Japan who are kind of like escorts, but not really. I think it is something unique to Japan. Anyway, they basically have a venue where women come, and they entertain them. I know the whole thing was about them getting the women to buy more and more champagne and other alcohol, because that is how they made their money. Their clientele were mostly prostitutes (I think...I do know they mentioned soap land or something).
As I said, I watched these through netflix, so that might help you..help me!Mikah_smiles..thank you so much, that is exactly it. However did you find it? Have you see it?
Derke N, yes that is it! Thank you!
Motorhead Fan, I'll hold you up to that! 2 down, 1 to go. Maybe your girl-friend will know the first one! I hope so!

moreResolved Question: Dealing with a teenager who's developed an attitude.?
My son is 17 and has landed a job this summer which he enjoys and has stuck with even though it's alot of work and very low pay. I'm proud of him for that. What I'm not proud of is this terrible disrespectful attitude he's gotten towards me lately. It's always been just me and him (no other kids, father died when he was a baby). We've always been close and he's always been so loving and appreciative but since he turned 17 he's become disrespectful and snotty. Trust me - I want to give him space to become a man and venture out on his own so him distancing himself from his mom - I'm all for it. I nudge him to go out with friends more, I encouraged him to get a job, etc. He's always nice and sweet when he wants something - otherwise he's snotty towards me (doesn't want me coming in his room to say hello, doesn't want me touching him (no hugs, pats on the back - it irritates him), he doesn't pick up his room and leaves food and crap everywhere, doesn't clean up if he makes a spill in the kitchen. He got his driver's license and never asks to borrow the car and seems scared to drive which is weird since all other teens can't wait to get their license and borrow the car. I told him since he's shown no interest in learning to drive better so he can borrow the car I'm cancelling his car insurance or he can pay for it. He said "Cancel it". I don't know what his problem is but I'm sick of it. I blew a fuse tonight and told him I wasn't putting up with it anymore and from now on I'm not buying him anything, giving him money, taking him out to eat, paying for his insurance or doing anything because of his crappy attitude towards me. The other day I said I was going to the pool and he said "Mom don't go the pool me and (his friend) are going and it's weird with you there". I just got home from work and wanted to relax by the pool but didn't. I've given this kid my blood, sweat and tears for 17 years all the while being a widowed single mom with no other family support. Now I'm just pissed I guess because of his lack of respect or appreciation. I know 17 year olds get this way and as hard as I'm trying to let him be an adult, he's still acting like a middle schooler. He can be standing in the mirror shaving and flexing his muscles one minute then the next be saying something juvenile like "Stop copying me, stop touching me, stop looking at me...". Should I do a 360 and just ignore him and stop being so nice and caring? He does seem to need a reality check. Maybe I should tell him he's totally on his own that I will not longer be his alarm clock, maid, cook, chauffeur, ATM machine, etc. I've never spoiled him and have tried to teach him good manners but at the magical age of 17, he's reverted to a selfish and spoiled brat. I can't seem to deal with him without getting so mad I lose my temper and yell at him. When I try to talk to him he ignores me or acts bored, yet when he wants my full attention I better listen. I'm pissed off royal and he knows it so he's locked himself in his room. Maybe I should conveniently forget to pick him up and take him to work, wash his clothes, feed him and tell him he's on his own. Maybe then he'll respect me. Any advice from others with teens?

A while ago President Suharto sold all the rainforests in Indonesia to foreign logging companies in order to boost his fortune.
The Peruvian Government now plans to do the same in the Amazon forests, claiming that the indigenous peoples there are primitive savages and should not get in the way of progress. The tribes have armed themselves with wooden spears and are now attacking the machine-gun armed Peruvian police supporting the trucks of the companies that have bought the rights to their lands from the Government who have nationalised and privatised them.
However, these tribes are sitting on oil, mineral and timber reserves that could be exploited and are badly needed in the West and in China, especially once the economy recovers.

Hello, I'm looking at buying a house with a pedestrian right of way to the rear garden. There are four terraced houses numbered 5-8. Number 6 has access to number 5's garden via side access and number 7 has access to number 8's rear garden by side access. I'm lloking to purchase number 8. I have spoken with the neighbours at number 6 and this access is shown alongside the house on the deeds. I would propose to lose 4ft of the garden all the way to the end and 4ft off the end of the garden, fence this in and have number 7 use this as their rear access. That way our garden remains private and secure and they get their access. Is this viable wirhout the need for solicitors/ change to the land registry, etc? Thank you.The current occupants of the house next door are council tenants so I imagine if I needed to talk to the owner that would be the government so I don't hold out much hope!

moreResolved Question: Why does the media in the U.K constantly single Roma Gypsies as a demonic race?
The British press always has itself a field day when Gypsies buy land legally to set up home, when the planning permission is turned down, as it invariably is, the press then start to criminalise and demonise Roma as disrespectful law breakers.
How can papers such as "The Daily Express" "The Daily Mail" and "The Sun" justify their unaccountable actions in printing so much lies in the press, when clearly Roma Gypsies should be given the same right as every other U.K citizen to buy land and set up home, with the central government no longer building sites and demolishing the ones that already exist, and with the local authorities not willing to house this wandering tribe, little wonder how the Gypsies have managed t keep their cool with the "good law abiding tax paying citizens" in this country. If these people can't get housing, can't get on sites for lack of them, what in the name of God are they to do!
Surely the newspapers realise this?

Don't get me wrong, I love trees but my neighbour has planted trees right up to our fence and the trunks are now pushing on my fence. The trees are huge - silver birch, ash and pine trees. It used to be lovely and sunny in my garden (that was one of the reasons we bought the property in the first place) but the huge trees have blocked it out. Not to mention the rubbish that falls from the trees in winter. I collected 2 buckets full of pine needles last week. We live in semi detatched houses with small gardens. I have spoken to the owner of the property but he's not happy - he said if we touch the back of his trees he will put a high fence up and we'll have to look at that. I used to think he was such a nice man but now we have brought this to his attention he's really turned nasty. We have lived in this house for 30 years and now I just don't want to go out in the garden any more. I was thinking of getting a tree feller in to take off the back of all his trees and bushes that hang over onto my land but is this going too far?I'm in the UK and it is usual for house owners to own the land too so any disputes we have to deal with through the councils.

It turned out that the previous owner (unbeknown to us) had a dispute with this neighbour, and it had concluded with the neighbour building a fence within 'his land'. There is a tatty little fence which is fence posts and wire on the correct boundary. We have been told in no uncertain terms we are not to touch either fence. Slight issue as there are gaps which our dog can get through, and when all's said and done, it looks absolutely appauling (and is not safe) as he has bodged it good and proper. We thought a simple solution would be use the current tatty fence posts on the correct border to attach some small fence panels to correct the holes, cover the dangerous bits etc. We have been we can't touch any of it. There seems to be no solution. Can anyone advise us where we stand please? Thanks :o)Indeed he is a 'charmer'! We have checked the deeds and the side we are discussing is his responsibility. We are hoping to avoid the serious expense (and inconvenience) of putting up a third(!) fence. Do you think it is reasonable to ask him to use the fence posts already in place to add some more panels to the fence on the correct boundary? Surely as it is a shared boundary, half the fence post is ours? I should also add that this is in the UK.P.s Keep my dog on a lead in MY back garden?! We bought a house so my dog could have the quality of garden!
moreResolved Question: can i extend the range of my usb broadband dongle?
I need to extend the range of my usb broadband dongle, and was wondering if i used a usb extension cable would it work. Also what sort of length cable could be used before i get problems, as mobile internet is handy and i would like to be able to use it. I had thought about wireless in some depth, but i have no land line or cable network where i am. So all things like B.T, Virgin, Sky, are all out of the question, mobile broadband is my only option, coverage is reasonable where i am. But no signal can be found in my summer house at the bottom of my garden, so as i have bought it i would like to get full usage out of it. Please help, as my head can't take missing all the sun cos of work on this bloody laptop and stressing about this problem.
moreResolved Question: Are sprawling suburbs and giant megastores/strip malls popular in the UK?
Pretty much every US city has this. There's tons of cheap land outside of every major city, so it's bought up and turned into giant housing subdivisions and giant concrete parking lots. Everything's built kind of random..you'll have a dense patch of forest here, an old farm house over there, a random McDonalds, and across the highway 15 brand new flashy houses.
Is it like this in the UK or are things much more structured?
Are downtowns still where most people shop or do most people live far out from the city in the suburbs?Like this:

moreResolved Question: Could the BNP really solve the "Gypsy Problem"?
I am thinking of voting for the BNP, as well as my friends and family, we hate the idea that Gypsies buy land and set up home without planning pemission, though I have never met or spoken with a Gypsy, or had any problems with them (YET!) I am thinking of voting BNP because I don't like Gypsies on our countryside, or the very idea of them claiming benefits/medical care/rubbish collection and such without paying for it.
Do you believe the BNP could put a once-and-for-all stop to this mess?

Here's the scenario: A woman aquires land, 1 On the death of her husband, 2 Land that she buys herself during her lifetime.
This woman has two daughters to whom all her belongs are left in a will.
One of the daughters dies leaving no children. To whom does the estate now pass?
The other daughter has children none of which are legally recognized.
Does the law strip them of what their mother has had left to her in a legal will? Does title pass to collateral family because the children are illegitimate? Hence my further quesion; Does the law about a man in this situation apply with equal force to a woman?
I await your response with thanks again to the replies allready given.
