Resolved Question: Signed with a realtor, picked a price, and now he wants us to go $20,000 lower. Does this sound right?

We are the owners of an empty unfinished renovation (in a great location and with a lot of potential) in Maine. I spent several months this summer working on selling it myself, and then decided to sign on with a real estate firm who handles commercial and residential. (I followed advice from previous answerer's and interviewed several agents). He gave us a price range he had figured out, and we went with a lower middle price on August 31st. Now, last week he writes that he has been in contact with FL contractors (Maine is last to feel recessions and last to recover, and our state has low foreclosures), and recommends we lower our price by $20,000 because "every contractor who calls hangs up when they hear our price". So, if we go $20K lower, won't we be asked to go lower still, and etc? It may be that I don't get the psychology of the real estate buyer and seller, but what prevents a potentially interested contractor asking our real estate agent to offer us a low price. We will consider any lower price, but I feel reluctant to advertise our lower price. Any advice anyone? Thanks for reading and responding. We are fine making mortgage payments until we sell it. My question is about pricing it. Does it seem reasonable to have a realtor recommend a price, and then 6 weeks later say we should come down $20k? Is there something I don't get about the secret language of pricing, that prevents people from offering the number they think they want to pay?Ok, do I hold out for the original price, come down, and leave room for bargaining lower, or pick a low number that we won't budge from? Again, I'm trying to crack the secret code of pricing. more

Resolved Question: Writing a story..?

The whole main thing this book about is a girl named Lily moved across town to a private school (since she is a straight A student and needed a challenge) called Cornell academy. She also lives in Maine, she has one brother, Connor and her dad is a real estate agent and her mother is one of the BEST hairstylists in Maine. She is very complex girl. She is shy but she gets a streak of confidence like on the first day of school, presenting reports for school, and doing important plays or roles in plays. She doesnt know what she wants to do when she grows up like she always considered herself as a model and girly, but then she has a tough and rough side of being offensive player in soccer and getting her preppy side on with her competiveness in tennis (maybe, still thinking if she should). Anyways, is called Flower girls because she meets 3 girls, Jasmine, Rose, and Violet. and Shes lily. Anyways, does it seem good?? more
